For patients who have successfully undergone lap band surgery, what is the outlook for them as it relates to Lap Band and Medications in the post-surgery period?

A lap band specialist will determine whether medications for blood pressure, diabetes, and other illnesses can be stopped when the conditions for which they are taken improve or disappear after lap band surgery.

For medications that lap band surgery patients will need to keep taking, the majority can be swallowed, absorbed, and work just like they did prior to lap band surgery. There is normally no change in dosage required for this.
